About the Event:
Gather with us as a community––in person or online––to experience Hedgebrook's radical hospitality and learn more about how our retreat has changed the lives of women-identified storytellers. The program will take a closer look at the rise of A.I. in creative spaces, how it impacts writers and thinkers, and whose voices get to be at the table when technology is speaking––plus, words from our accomplished alumnae, uplifting raffle items, a nourishing brunch––and more! We can't wait to see you!
Featuring:
Jennifer Baker, book publishing veteran, host and creator of the "Minorities in Publishing" podcast, editor of "Everyday People: The Color of Life" short-story anthology, and author of YA novel, "Forgive Me Not".
Terah Lyons, Hedgebrook Board member, founding Executive Director of the global nonprofit, The Partnership on AI, and former Policy Advisor to the U.S. Chief Technology Officer in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy during the Obama Administration.
Michele Elam, the William Robertson Coe Professor of Humanities in the English Department at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence and a Race & Technology Affiliate at the Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. Her books include, "Race, Work, and Desire in American Literature, 1860-1930"; "The Souls of Mixed Folk: Race, Politics, and Aesthetics in the New Millennium"; and "The Cambridge Companion to James Baldwin".
